First there was hardly anything, just the basic cream, used by mums, grannies, and even us! Life was much simpler then, wasn't it?
Today, we've already been super-used to the foundations, concealers and tinted moisturisers.
To complicate it more, foundations got further diversified as liquid foundation, mineral foundation, cream foundation, powder foundation.
To complicate it a little more, foundations got a little bit eased out by the introduction of tinted moisturisers, a lighter version of the foundation.
Complicate it even further, then came the BB Creams, which, I really felt after using them, are just a lighter version of the foundation, but double the price.
And now comes the CC Cream, promising to be the best of all, the Complexion Corrector that can magically transform your skin from regular to glamourous in an instant!
What next?? DD to ZZ creams?
Even though Im quite interested in all things beautiful and love lotions and potions and creams and cosmetics, I really don't believe that beauty should become such an obsession! What our regular moisturiser does perfectly well at a reasonable price may be the same as what a BB cream or CC cream promises to do with 5 times the price - and we end up falling prey to all these marketing gimmicks and shelling out wads of money.
I did try one of the BB creams and that's the only one I have used, no re-purchase, and I know I am definitely not buying the CC cream. Im happy to go the normal way.
After all, there is only so much makeup and cosmetics can do, in the end, its all about whats in your heart!
