DIY Detox Tea #Detoxtea

I know this looks a bit scary, but this is an amazing detox tea I finally prepared at home, and trust me, if you are looking at natural ways to stay fit and healthy and cleanse your system, this is something you can try.

Its really really easy to make at home, and knowing the Her Highness of Laziness that I am, trust me I wouldn't go for something that is too excessive. So without me rambling on much, take a look.

Take The Following And Make Into A Powder (it is okay to keep it a little granulated, else you can make a fine powder in the blender as well)

cinnamon, black pepper corns, turmeric root, methi seeds, dry ginger also known as saunth (you can also use turmeric powder if you can't find turmeric root, but its best to grind it at home)

There is no specific quantity that I followed, I just took a good amount of each. You can take the quantity as per your choice, but make sure it is enough to fill up about half of a glass container, as you can easily store it for months.

Once done, store the mix in a dry airtight container, preferably glass.

To prepare the tea, heat a mug of water and add half a teaspoon of the tea mix to it. Make sure to stir it well, as else the powder will settle at the bottom. The best time to have this tea is right in the morning on an empty stomach.

By the way, did you all know that turmeric tea is also all the rage these days? It started as a rage in the West in the form of turmeric latte and has now started featuring very prominently in most tea cafes in India as well.

Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that make it a super spice. It protects against regular cold and cough and also helps to boost your immunity, as well as keep the aches and pains at bay. It is also great at fighting infections and helps to repair damaged tissues. Having cinnamon on a regular basis also prevents the risk of heart diseases and keeps your heart comparatively healthy. It's also great for your metabolism and is a known fighter of diabetes. Also, regular use of cinnamon keeps you protected against neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.

Turmeric has been used in Indian homes as a traditional medicine against pain, inflammation, for healing wounds as well as for reducing cough and cold. It keeps your skin healthy and reduces signs of aging, especially pigmentation and fine lines. Regular use of turmeric keeps your brain protected against age related damage and wear and tear and also improves brain function. It is also good for your heart. While it is not confirmed yet but some research is being conducted to check if turmeric may help prevent cancer. Turmeric is especially good to reduce aches and pains as well as reduce and prevent problems arising out of arthritis.

Black Pepper helps in keeping your digestive system working smooth and especially helps avoid constipation. It also helps to remove toxins from the body through frequent urination and sweating. It also helps to dispel gas formation from the body. As it helps to break down fat cells, black pepper is also a natural way to promote healthy weight loss. Pepper also helps to prevent vitiligo, a condition in which the skin turns white. Using black pepper on a regular basis will also keep your respiratory tract clear and prevent any mucous buildup. It also helps those who suffer from sinus. Black pepper also has strong antibacterial qualities and is also known to keep the mind sharper.

Fenugreek or Methi Seeds keeps your cholesterol levels in check and keeps your digestive system healthy. It also prevents and reduces any inflammation in the body, as well as enhances appetite. Methi seeds are especially good for lactating mums as it promotes the production of breast milk. It also reduces your risk of cardiovascular diseases and helps to keep your sugar levels in check. If you suffer from menstrual cramps or if you are looking at reducing and maintaining your weight, fenugreek is a great option.

Dry Ginger is known to aid in preventing cold and cough as well as reduce your regular aches and pains. It is also great at fighting off infections and is especially good for those who suffer from headaches. Dry ginger also keeps your stomach in good health and promotes metabolism. It keeps you safe against urinary infections and also helps to remove flatulence. For those suffering from acne as well as those who want to lose or maintain weight, dry ginger can be very beneficial.
